Merry Christmas Folks!

Hi everyone! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! It is Christmas night and it's been a fun couple of days. Now my mom and dad are chilling, looking at their Christmas tree after a nice walk with Shelby and a brunch at Aunt Debi's, and all is right with the world. As far as me, I am doing just great. I am excited because the votes from the poll are in. They have been counted. A whopping 78% of you wanted to know if I was a boy or a girl. Well, as embarrassed as I am to share this picture with you, here is the proof.

I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season. I can't wait to meet all of you next Christmas!

Love,
Nate (that's the name my mom and dad picked out for me... actually they picked it out years ago when they were just dating... N.C. Wyeth is one of my dad's favorite artists, and he was an amazing, creative, loving father as well... one of his kids was named Nathaniel and my dad always liked that name, and my mom agreed! I think my dad is going to be just as great of a dad. He already is, in fact. He even got me cool presents for Christmas. And he is a great artist too. Look at the wine labels he made for the family parties we went to!)

My 20-Week Ultrasound

Apologies in advance for those of you who look at ultrasounds and just say "ew" or "eh." But how cool is this 4-D sonogram taken for the 20-week ultrasound? Guess that's why they call it the "fetal position"! My mom and dad freaked when they saw it, then began arguing over who I looked liked more. I was actually sucking my thumb in the womb when they did the ultrasound, and my parents got to see it. They were really, really happy to see me looking so healthy and peaceful. This was taken on December 13, 2007.

PS: I lied earlier when I said my mom wasn't craving things. She has been craving apple cider doughnuts (like the ones from Linvilla Orchards) so right now she is actually attempting to make them from scratch. Pray for us.

Halfway Point Already!

This is how my mom looks at 20 weeks. You can definitely tell I'm there! She keeps staring at her belly and breaking into laughter, and then she rubs her belly and then my daddy often gives me kisses. They really are going overboard with all the joy and cheesy sentimentality, but I must admit it is kind of nice. My 20-week ultrasound was really cool in that they saw that I look completely healthy in every way... my mom and dad feel very very lucky and happy about that.

According to these emails my mom gets from the American Pregnancy Association, this upcoming week (her 21st) is one of the best times of pregnancy. But she has been very lucky in that she didn't get any morning sickness at all! In fact, she ate like a pig her first trimester. She still loves eating just about everything, has no weird cravings, and likes to sleep a lot. She better get used to sleeping in now, because when I get here fuggedahboutit.

My First Ultrasound

Hello world! Ed and Kathy's baby here. I am just chillin in the womb, hanging out, all warm and cozy. I know I should just be relaxing, but like my mom and dad, I love the Internet so wanted to start blogging right away.

Check me out in this pic... I am only 7 weeks along here. I must admit I look kind of like a blob of cells here. Probably because that's what I was at that point, a blob of cells. But there was already a heart beating at that point. When my mom and dad saw this they were all excited. I was like "chill out, guys, it's pretty normal", but for them it was the first time they'd seen anything like it.

Anyway, here is a link to some pictures the night my mom and dad told everyone the news about me. My awesome Uncle Bob took these pics. It was on October 6, at a party my dad threw for my mom's birthday. It was a really fun night apparently, and my mom was so happy she didn't even seem to resent the fact that because of me she can't have wine for a while.
